Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The company of the tycoon Hary Tanoesoedibjo, MNC Group, is expanding its digital business by building an artificial intelligence headquarters in New Delhi, India.

The business expansion is in line with the MNC Group’s plan to become a global player in the digital economy.

“The MNC Group has set up an office in New Delhi, India, specifically for dealing with AI,” said Hary Tanoesoedibjo, Executive Chairman of the MNC Group, in a statement on Thursday (May 20, 2021).

The headquarters are reinforced by qualified personnel with long flight times, including Abhishek Tiwari. The MNC Group appointed Abhishek Tiwari as Deputy Chief Technical Officer. Abhishek’s presence is intended to strengthen the MNC Group’s AI center in India.

He has 10 years of experience in software, holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science from UP Technical University, India, and has worked in AI for IT companies as well as world class financial institutions.

Abhishek began his career at Tata Consultancy Services as a software engineer. Later Abhishek is said to have worked as a software engineer at Credit Agricole, Citibank, Taiger Singapore. Finally, before joining the MNC Group, Abhishek had a career at AlgoTrader, Singapore.

For information, the MNC Group has prepared a strategy and implemented a roadmap for digital transformation in various business areas, both in the financial sector under the direction of PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP), in the real estate sector (PT MNC Land Tbk / KPIG) and in the media (PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk / MNCN). Meanwhile, AI is encouraging all business areas to be ready to become giants in their respective fields.

In financial services, Motion Digital, digital banking PT Bank MNC Internasional Tbk (BABP) is currently preparing a digital bank that will become one of the country’s giants, with a minimum target of 30 million customers in the first 5 years. Motion Digital will streamline the conversion of the MNC Group’s more than 200 million user databases to its customers.

“The MNC Group’s total user base, including television, portals and social media, has reached more than 200 million user groups,” said Hary Tanoe.

Motion Digital will have the most advanced and integrated digital services in the country through integration with other fintechs such as e-money, virtual credit cards, and channeling through peer-to-peer lending platforms.

MNC Bank is currently awaiting approval of the Motion application’s digital onboarding approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
