BJP candidate for the Chandigarh parliamentary seat Sanjay Tandon said on Tuesday that only his party was capable of forming a stable government.
Tandon said, “In the current scenario, only the BJP can ensure a stable government, which is crucial for accelerating and completing pending development projects.”
Highlighting the progress made during the decade-long tenure of the Modi-led central government, he mentioned numerous development projects. While promising more plans, Tandon said, “The BJP plans to implement many more initiatives once the Modi government is re-elected for the third consecutive time on June 4,” he added.
He further claimed that Prime Minister Modi's third term would transform India's economic landscape. While blaming his rivals, Tandon said, “In contrast, the INDI Alliance is a coalition of self-interested parties like the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party that lacks a clear agenda.” Internal conflicts are rampant within the alliance and many leaders are striving to become prime minister even before the elections.”
“How can one expect stability from such an alliance when there are so many conflicting interests and ideologies,” Tandon countered. “On the other hand, we have Modi, who is a towering leader, who has proved his mettle in two terms not only as a prime minister but also as a statesman, who also has considerable influence globally,” he said.
Attacking the INDIA bloc, he said, “The alliance has no leader to talk about, let alone someone who has the ability to be portrayed as the face of the Prime Minister.”
Addressing voters, the saffron party candidate said, “I appeal to all voters to come out in large numbers and aim for a voter turnout of 90 percent, which is a new record.” Tandon added, “A vote for me means a vote for Prime Minister Modi.”
Union Minister Gadkari speaks at public meeting
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will address a rally at Baba Makhan Shah Lobana Bhawan, Sector 30, on May 22 in support of Sanjay Tandon. The elections are scheduled for June 1.
BJP leader Jatinder Pal Malhotra said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected in the last week of the month but the date is yet to be confirmed.”
In the coming days, BJP MP Ravi Kishan is also expected to be in the city to woo migrants, who mostly live in settlements and make up around 300,000 of Chandigarh's 647,000 voters.
From the Congress and the AAP, former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat is expected to be in Chandigarh on May 25 and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi is also expected in the final week.
