TEMPO.CO, Cibinong – National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN) hosted the Indonesia Research and Innovation Expo or InaRI Expo 2022, open from today to next Sunday, in the ICC Building, Cibinong Science Center, Bogor, West Java. This major research and innovation exhibition is titled “Digital, Blue & Green Economy: Research and Innovation for Food and Energy Sovereignty”.

BRIN Head Laksana Tri Handoko stated that InaRi Expo 2022 is the first research and innovation exhibition after the integration of BRIN, making it the largest ever held in Indonesia. “And actually that’s also the integration of several expos that have taken place in the past,” he said at the opening of the exhibition on Thursday morning, October 27, 2022.

The first InaRi Expo event is part of the G20 Indonesia 2022 Presidency. At the G20, Handoko added, BRIN will play a role as a facilitator for Research and Innovation Initiative Gathering (RIIG) and Space 20 activities Expo 2022 expects to be a showcase for the progress in R&D and technological innovation in Indonesia,” he said.

In addition, Handoko explained the background of the topic “Digital, Blue & Green Economy: Research and Innovation for Food and Energy Sovereignty”. According to him, in line with Indonesia’s current needs, the focus has been placed on food and energy. “In the short term mostly due to fluctuations in food and energy prices,” he said.

The location of the Cibinong Science Center was chosen to introduce the field and research and innovation to a wider and younger audience.

Various activities were held during the four days of the fair, including seminars, business meetings, product presentations, workshops, talk shows, business matching, consulting clinics and science shows. In addition, there were also parallel youth research and innovation fairs, Halal Tech Expo 2022, ASEAN India Start up Festival 2022, BRIN Research-Based Start Up Entrepreneurs Program and G20 Zone.

Damar Rusli, Chairman of the InaRi Expo 2022 Committee, admitted that he had received a great public response to the agenda of this exhibition. “The enthusiasm for the inaRi Expo 2022 is extraordinary, as evidenced by the 239 participants,” he said at the opening ceremony.
