The film was coined 5.9 crore on the first day of its release, 7.4 crore on the second day, 9.6 crore on the third day and 3.25 crore on the fourth day. Article 370 deserved another one 3.25 crore nett in India on the fifth day (first Tuesday), as per initial estimates. So far the film has collected 29.40 crore in India. The film was produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar.

Yami plays the role of intelligence officer Zooni Haksar. Set entirely against the picturesque backdrop of Jammu and Kashmir, the film is based on the landmark repeal of Article 370, which guaranteed special constitutional privileges to the erstwhile state. The film's trailer showed the rise of terrorism in the region, with radicals attempting to take control of the region.

Yami's character joined the NIA and is given a free hand to carry out a mission in Kashmir. The government has also promised to abolish Article 370. Apart from Yami, the film also stars Priyamani, Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar in the lead roles. Article 370 is backed by Jio Studios and Aditya Dhar's banner B62 Studios. The drama is “inspired by true events that shaped the fate of Kashmir.”

Article 370 is not banned in the Gulf States

After news agency ANI reported that the film was banned in the Gulf countries, it has now stated that it is not banned. Citing sources, a new report says that the film is awaiting certification in certain Gulf countries.

Yami had said on Monday that the cast and makers have “full confidence” that the film will resonate with the audience. Revealing that the makers were told that such films might not find too many takers, the actor said, “We were told that this film might not succeed at the box office as the audience doesn't appreciate such themes.”
