Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his promise to boost India's economy in his final speech in Parliament before the general elections. This time he didn't give numbers, but said the economy would be the third largest in the world by his third term.

The BJP expressed confidence that the Narendra Modi government will return with a large mandate for the third consecutive term.

Responding to the vote of thanks on President Droupadi Murmu's speech last week, Prime Minister Modi contrasted his development agenda with what he called the opposition's culture of saying no.

“The world is influenced by India. The G20 summit is proof of this. In our third term…India will be the third largest economy in the world and that is Modi's guarantee,” the Prime Minister said.

“When we say we will become the third largest economy, the opposition says it will happen by itself, nothing big. I want to tell the youth how it is done and the role of the government in it,” said Prime Minister Modi.

“In February 2014, when the Interim Budget came, the then Finance Minister said and I quote: “I would now like to look ahead and lay out a vision for the future… I wonder how many… India's economy in terms of size.” and Strength is the eleventh largest economy. There are great things in store. India's nominal GDP is expected to take the country to third place after the US and China over the next three decades. “In 2014, they said India would be the third largest economy by 2044. That was their vision,” Prime Minister Modi said.

His government's promise to take India to third place in its third term should “make the opposition happy,” Prime Minister Modi said, “because they were happy with 11th place.”
