At a press conference here, Pawar said the MVA partners had authorized it Thackeray To take action against the rebels, and steps will be taken in a day or two.
“This falls within the purview of the Prime Minister. He will take action in a day or two,” Pawar said when asked about the dismissal of ministers in the state government who have aligned themselves with rebel leader Shinde.
The NCP chief ruled out the possibility of introducing the President’s Rule in Maharashtra.
“Those who have rebelled want an alternative government in Maharashtra. What’s the point of driving so many MLAs from one place to another when you have to enforce the President’s Rule. As I understand it, there is no possibility of President’s Rule. If it happens, there will be elections,” Pawar said.
The NCP chief also challenged the rebels to come to Mumbai and prove the numbers in a democratic system.
“They claim to have numbers. If they have the numbers, then why are they sitting there in Guwahati? Come to Mumbai and prove the numbers in a democratic setting,” he said.
The NCP boss said the MVA partners had full confidence in Thackeray’s leadership and would continue to support him “to the end”.
“Our policy is clear that we have formed a coalition government and we will fully support it. We will support Uddhav Thackeray until the end. Our commitment is to a Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray,” said Pawar.
Pawar said Shiv Sena’s squad will never digest another view of 40-50 leaders and stand by Thackeray.
“The Shiv Sena I know will never stomach a rebellion. Shiv Sainiks have immense strength and have built the organization through many efforts. This has no impact on the organization. Uddhav Thakceray will emerge victorious,” said Pawar.
