Tick tock became the most downloaded non-game application in October 2021, even TikTok’s popularity has now managed to overtake Instagram.
TikTok is growing in popularity around the world as it has been the most downloaded app in the world for more than 10 months, based on data from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

Data shows that TikTok, ByteDance’s Chinese-made video sharing platform, has become the most downloaded app in the world with more than 57 million new users in October.
According to the report, the countries with the most downloads were China with 17 percent, followed by the US with 11 percent.
Instagram was the second most downloaded non-gaming app in the world after TikTok last month. Instagram has more than 56 million downloads, up 31 percent since October 2020.
India had the most downloads for Instagram with 39 percent, followed by Brazil with 6 percent. Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram complete the five most installed non-gaming apps worldwide for October 2021.
Instagram is losing prestige and is not silent. The app, owned by tech giant Meta, is said to have struggled to compete with TikTok and its short videos.
Instagram, which normally displays still images, is now turning to “reels” in the form of short videos to compete directly with TikTok’s increasing popularity.
