The East Kalimantan Provincial Government is offering India investment opportunities in IKN Nusantara

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SAMARINDA – The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of East Kalimantan (Kaltim) is offering the Indian government the opportunity to invest in the archipelago’s National Capital (IKN).

“If you are interested in investing in IKN, you can communicate with the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and the IKN Authority. We hope that India can increase its investments. Because currently India ranks 14th among foreign investment countries,” said the head of the East Kalimantan Provincial Development Administration Bureau (Adbang). Irhamsyah during a visit by Indian Consul General for Indonesia-Bali Neeharika Singh to the Office of the Governor of East Kalimantan, Tuesday (August 29, 2023).

On the occasion, he explained some of the potentials and achievements of East Kalimantan and hoped that the Indian delegation led by Neeharika Singh would be able to see first-hand the development progress in the province, particularly in IKN. Irhamsyah said: East Kalimantan is currently developing and will continue to develop both infrastructure and quality human resources. East Kalimantan even sends ASN to India for technical training in the field of irrigation and this is still being carried out today.

The existence of IKN, he continued, has encouraged the East Kalimantan provincial government, together with the central government, to intensively develop infrastructure, especially toll roads to IKN and Samarinda-Bontang.

In addition, East Kalimantan also hosts various national and global events, especially in the tourism sector, such as the Erau Cultural Festival in Tenggarong, Kutai Kartanegara. “We expect variety Events “This could be an attraction for tourists from India,” he said.

He also said that there are tourist destinations of Derawan, Maratua and Sangalaki in East Kalimantan. “If the Indian government wants, East Kalimantan will be open and our people will be friendly,” he said.

Neeharika explained that the purpose of her visit to East Kalimantan was to find out what potential there was in the area and also wanted to know how development was progressing in East Kalimantan. “Hopefully our arrival can provide new information to the Indian government so that it can invest in East Kalimantan,” Neeharika said.
