As soon as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the sale of the tickets, thousands of fans flocked to the website to reserve their seats. Many were put in an online queue with tens of thousands of users in front of them. The estimated waiting time was more than an hour.

On Sunday evening, premium and platinum tickets were available for Dh 1,500 and Dh 2,600 for groups of two. But as of Monday morning, both are no longer available on the platinum list.

Several users took to social media on Monday to ask if people were ready to sell their tickets.
