Actor Sonam Kapoor was invited by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to his upcoming reception on the occasion of UK-India Week 2023. Sonam lives in London with her husband and businessman Anand Ahuja and son Vayu and will also be participating on behalf of India. Earlier, Sonam attended the coronation concert of King Charles III. invited, where she delivered a spoken word performance. She will be seen at the reception, which will take place at the Prime Minister's official residence and office at 10 Downing Street. The celebration is part of the India Global Forum's flagship UK-India Week event, taking place from June 26 to 30 in London. Sonam will be at the reception on Wednesday and will speak about India and its cultural influence around the world.

UK-India Week 2023 is the fifth edition of the IGF’s flagship event. The week-long program aims to celebrate and strengthen the long-standing partnership between the UK and India by providing a platform to talk about important issues such as politics, trade, economics, sustainability, inclusion and innovation for progress and harmony.

Sonam moved to London during the first wave of Covid-19 in India. She married Anand in 2018. The couple traveled frequently to London, where Anand spent most of his time until they finally moved to the country. The actress often shares glimpses of her life in the UK and visits her family in India on social media.

She welcomed her first born son Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, in August 2022 in India. The couple later returned to London. Sonam will next be seen in Shome Makhija's upcoming film Blind. It also stars Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, Lilette Dubey and Shubham Saraf. It will stream on Jio Cinema from July 7.
