PM Modi welcomes Varanasi’s growth and says Kashi’s development is a roadmap for many other cities in India

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the All India Mayors’ Conference on Friday, encouraged mayors to “unleash a myriad of learning opportunities.” Up to 120 mayors from different states will take part in the conference on the topic of “New Urban India”. Modi welcomed her as host in the capacity of being a Lok Sabha member from Varanasi.

During his speech after the opening of the All India Mayors’ Conference in Varanasi by video conference on the 17th, who are seriously concerned about cleanliness.

He said there was a need to make a list of cities that have turned a blind eye to Swachata Abhiyan and other public institutions.

In his address at the event, the Prime Minister emphasized that this program in Kashi is very important for the growth of Indian cities. Mayors from different states will take part in the conference, the theme of the event is “New Urban India”.

“I believe that all the mayors present here have left no stone unturned for the bright future and development of their cities. This program in Kashi is very important for the growth of cities in India, “said Prime Minister Modi.

“The development in Kashi is a roadmap for many other cities in the country. Most of our cities are traditional cities. They also developed in the traditional way. We can learn from such places how local skills and products can be the identity of this city, ”added the Prime Minister.

PM Modi also spoke of “evolution, not revolution”. “We should believe in evolution. India doesn’t need a revolution today. We don’t have to demolish and rebuild our listed buildings, but rather rejuvenate them. I want all mayors to take an initiative to get their city to the top of the list of the cleanest cities, ”said the Prime Minister. He also talked about restoring old cityscapes with innovation and technology.

Union Minister for Housing and Urban Development Hardeep Puri attended the conference via video conference, while Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath physically attended the conference.

The conference was organized by the Department of Urban Development of Uttar Pradesh in Varanasi. Mayors from various states in the country take part in the conference.
