Suara.com – Four of the 40 newborns in a government hospital in central India died when a fire ravaged the hospital’s maternity ward on Monday (09/11/2021), officials said.
The incident is the latest in a string of hospital fires in India this year, killing dozens of people.
The babies who survived at Kamla Nehru Hospital in Madhya Pradesh state were moved to another ward, the state Health Minister Vishvas Kailash Sarang told reporters after the fire was brought under control.
Most of the babies treated in the department were underweight.
