Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman was recently surprised during the music premiere of upcoming film Iravin Nizhal. The film’s director, Parthiban, lost his composure and threw the microphone at the audience, leaving Rahman speechless.
Parthiban was upset when, during a conversation with the music maestro, he was told his microphone wasn’t working. And Parthiban hissed, throwing his microphone into the audience while shouting, “You should’ve just told me at the beginning.”
Parthiban later explained that he had pain in his shoulder, which made him act without thinking. “It was an indecent thing. I’m sorry,” he said at the event.
After the critical success of Oththa Seruppu Size 7, Parthiban releases another experimental film. While “Oththa Seruppu Size 7” was a single-actor film, Iravin Nizhal is billed as “the world’s first non-linear single-shot film”.
The teaser, which was released earlier, hinted that the film will follow a man through different phases of his life. “Hunger and poverty changed my life,” says Parthiban in the teaser.
Besides Parthiban, Iravin Nizhal also stars as Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Robo Shankar, Priyanka Ruth, Brigida Saga, Sneha Kumar, Anand Krishnan and Chandru. AR Rahman composed the music for the film.
