Partha claims conspiracy, says ‘time will tell’ | India News

KOLKATA: Former Bengali Minister Partha ChatterjeePulled from all posts in Trinamool said Friday “somoy bolbe (time will tell)” if the party acted correctly in taking action against him.
“Jara shorojontro korchhe tara jante parbe (the conspirators will know),” he said while being escorted out of the ESI Hospital in Joka in a wheelchair. However, he refused to specify who he suspected of being the conspirators.
While Chatterjee yelled conspiracy, his alleged ‘close associate’ Arpita Mukherjee sobbed almost all the way to Joka Hospital from the CGO complex in Salt Lake City where the ED office is located. She refused to get out of the car when she reached the hospital, repeatedly telling the media that she was “not able to take it anymore.”
At one point, Arpita seemed to lose his balance and stumble. On the way to the exam room, she tried to squat on the floor. She was seen crying again as she was led back to the car.
Chatterjee’s comments on Friday contrasted with his defiance just two days ago when he asked why he should resign when reporters asked him if he planned to resign.
TMC has not announced a replacement for the organizational positions Chatterjee formerly held, with the exception of MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, who has been appointed editor of the party’s mouthpiece. The ministerial portfolios assigned to him will initially rest with CM Mamata.
