Speaking at an event marking the 15th Public Service Day, Gadkari said that coordination and communication between different stakeholders are necessary for the completion of infrastructure projects.
“We must strengthen the Indian economy. PM Gati Shakti’s national master plan is very important to achieve the Prime Minister’s dream of turning India into a $5 trillion economy,” said the Minister of Roads and Highways.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a vision in 2019 to turn India into a $5 trillion economy and a global economic powerhouse by 2024-25.
He also noted that financial audits are crucial, but performance audits are more important.
The minister said there was a need to reduce construction costs without sacrificing quality.
He found that delays in decision making increase costs and also cause inconvenience to end users.
The Minister also suggested using RoW (Right of Way) on federal roads for the joint development of other transport systems.
Road and Highways Minister Giridhar Aramane also said at the event that one of Prime Minister Gati Shakti’s goals is to provide connectivity in 860 economic nodes in the country.
