Nazara-backed NODWIN Gaming acquires Comic Con India for global entertainment expansion

Esports and gaming startup NODWIN Gaming announced its decision to acquire Comic Con India, an annual comic convention platform. According to reports, NODWIN will acquire 100 percent stake in Comic Con India at a value of INR 55 Crore.

“The integration of Comic Con India will expand and diversify NODWIN’s offering across all opportunities aimed at the youth in India. With the continued entanglement of gaming/pop culture/e-sports in an interactive entertainment sector, Nodwin will add a strong and robust IP that is scalable both in India and internationally. Our endeavor to attract millions of fans across the globe will reach a new level with Comic Con,” said Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder and Managing Director, NODWIN Gaming.

According to the official press release, the management team of Comic Con India will become shareholders of NODWIN Gaming by exchanging 27.5 Crores of its Comicon India shares for that of NODWIN.

“For more than a decade, we have worked tirelessly to create a unique space to promote and celebrate popular culture in India. And with this goal in mind, I am very happy to take the next step and build together with NODWIN Gaming. “We will achieve this goal together,” says Jatin Varma, founder of Comic Con India.

With this strategic move, NODWIN Gaming, an independent subsidiary of Nazara Technologies, aims to increase the number of festivals and expand its reach to more Indian cities outside New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai as well as other countries and thus opening up new markets and audiences.
