Fact: Project S never existed in Indonesia and we have no plans to have Project S in Indonesia. We do not have a cross-border business and 100% of sellers on TikTok Shop have local business entities registered with Business Identification Numbers (NIB) or are local micro-entrepreneurs with KTP/Passport verification.
Myth: The US, India and the UK have banned TikTok from operating social media and e-commerce platforms under one platform
Fact: TikTok Shop launched in the US on September 12, 2023 and runs on the same platform as TikTok. In India, TikTok has not operated in the country since 2020 and TikTok Shop was never launched in India. In the UK, TikTok Shop and TikTok operate on one platform.
Myth: In China, TikTok separates social media and e-commerce platforms
Fact: TikTok does not operate in China.
Myth: TikTok Shop has a logistics and payment system in Indonesia and therefore practices monopolistic business practices
