New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday stressed that with India aiming to become a developed nation, it is poised to become the world’s third largest economy with government employees playing an important role in shaping the future.
Addressing the Rozgar Mela during a video conference where 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to new recruits, Prime Minister Modi emphasized its mission to promote job creation.
The recruits selected from across the country will join the government in various ministries and departments including the Ministry of Posts, Indian Audit and Accounts Department, Atomic Energy Ministry, Finance Ministry, Higher Education Ministry, Defense Ministry and Health Ministry among others. The Rozgar Mela is held at 46 locations across the country.
Regarding women empowerment, the Prime Minister said, “The issue of women’s reservation, which was stuck for 30 years, was passed by both Houses with record votes.” He added that this important decision in the constituent session marked a new beginning for the Nation marks the new parliament.
Reflecting on the rapid ambitions of the new India, the Prime Minister said, “India is committed to becoming Viksit Bharat by 2047. In the next few years, the country will become the third largest economy in the world, where the government will have a lot to contribute for the times to come.”
He stressed that they follow the “citizens first” approach, stressing that they would use it in their work area and improve the efficiency of governance.
The Prime Minister emphasized that government employees bear the greatest responsibility for implementing government plans on the ground. He pointed out that the speed and scale of policy implementation would be accelerated if many young people enter public service. This in turn stimulates employment growth beyond the public sector and promotes the creation of new employment structures.
