Mahindra is working with Qualcomm to bring the latest technology to the new Scorpio-N

Mahindra & Mahindra on Monday announced a collaboration with chipmaker Qualcomm to bring the latest technological advances for a comfortable, safe and intelligent driving experience to its all-new Scorpio-N vehicle.

The chipmaker will work with automotive electronics company Visteon Corporation to bring premium, transformative driving experiences to the all-new Scorpio-N using its third-generation Snapdragon cockpit platforms.

“We’re leveraging more than two decades of automotive expertise to transform the Scorpio-N into a digitally advanced and feature-rich SUV,” said Uday Dodla, Senior Director of Business Development, Qualcomm India.

3rd Gen Snapdragon cockpit platforms are designed to support the higher levels of computation and intelligence required for the advanced capabilities of next-generation vehicles, contributing to contextual safety for drivers and passengers.

These include facilitating driver monitoring and object detection, as well as helping to ensure the security of personal and vehicle data.

In addition, the 3rd generation Snapdragon cockpit platforms feature an advanced suite of wireless technologies supporting multimode cellular connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, as well as enhanced Bluetooth technologies, according to the company.

“With the advanced capabilities of Snapdragon automotive technologies embedded in our SUVs, we are reinventing the norm of a smart connected vehicle, delivering a safer and more engaging driving experience,” said R Velusamy, President, Automotive Technology and Product Development, M&M Ltd.

The Scorpio-N offers a state-of-the-art driving and ownership experience powered by Mahindra’s connected artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which uses Visteon’s SmartCore cockpit domain controller technology based on Snapdragon cockpit platforms.

The Scorpio-N is equipped with a 17.78 cm color driver information display and a 20.32 cm infotainment system with navigation.

Qualcomm offers advanced automotive technologies through the Snapdragon Digital Chassis, a suite of cloud-connected platforms for telematics, digital cockpit solutions, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)/autonomous driving, vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) and Car-to-Cloud” mobile communications solutions.
