Presented by TAKE Sports, the Rs 1.5 crore event is part of the TATA Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and will feature a high profile field including SSP Chawrasia, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Jyoti Randhawa, defending champion Karandeep Kochhar, alongside host Jeev .
Rashid Khan, former champion Chikkarangappa (2018), Udayan Mane, Viraj Madappa, Honey Baisoya, Manu Gandas and Veer Ahlawat will also be present on the field, which will include 129 participants, including 126 professionals and three amateurs.
The foreign challenge is led by Sri Lankans Anura Rohana, Mithun Perera, N Thangaraja and K Prabagaran as well as Bangladeshis Md Zamal Hossain Mollah, Badal Hossain, Md Sayum, Md Dulal Hossain and Md Akbar Hossain.
“I am proud that the tournament has become one of the biggest attractions on the Indian golf calendar in recent years in terms of depth of field, handsome prize money, high level of competition and excellent game conditions at the Chandigarh Golf Club venue,” said Jeev in a press release.
“All three editions of the event so far have met golf fans’ expectations, with the winner each time being determined in a playoff. I expect another highly competitive affair this year.”
The main tournament is preceded by the Pro-Am event on Wednesday. This year’s Pro-Am event is dedicated to the legendary sprinter Milkha Singh, Jeev’s father, who passed away earlier this year.
The Pro-Am event is named – Milkha Singh Pro-Am-Tag, a tribute to the legend.
