Jonas Brothers Lollapalooza India Music Festival Nick Joe Kevin Jonas

New Delhi: Singer Nick Jonas and his brothers Joe and Kevin thrilled thousands of fans with their debut here on Saturday evening.

The popular American band known as The Jonas Brothers performed for an hour and a half at Mahalaxmi Race Course in South Mumbai on the first day of the second edition of Lollapalooza India.

Before the trio took the stage, a peppy track 'Gallan Goodiyaan' by Priyanka and Ranveer Singh starring 'Dil Dhadakne Do' was played to set the mood for the evening. Nick, who is married to Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, was greeted with shouts of “Jiju, Jiju” (brother-in-law) during his performance.

“This is our very first performance in India. The sangeet doesn't count,” Nick joked, referring to the lavish ceremony before his wedding to Priyanka in 2018.

He also spoke about his “special connection” with India.

“As a family, we have a deep, deep connection to the land,” Nick said as the crowd began chanting “Jiju, Jiju.” “Thank you for having us and we will provide the most exciting evening ever,” he added.

The Jonas Brothers belted out a medley of smooth and upbeat songs during their performance, including “Celebrate,” “Sucker,” “What a Man Gotta Do,” “Close” and “Jealous.”

Nick thanked fans for being “incredible” all day.

“Two incredible nights at Lollapalooza. This crowd is incredible not just now but all day long. If you've been here all day, make some noise, and if you've stayed here all day, make some noise,” he told the crowd.

The singer also introduced fans to his brothers Joe and Kevin. The trio's ability to connect with their fans has resonated with many.

As the audience continued to cheer, the sound of the instruments slowly became quieter and Nick surprised everyone with his own version of “Maan Meri Jaan” along with rapper King on stage singing in Hindi.

A group of five friends who attended the event said they thoroughly enjoyed the Jonas Brothers' performance.

Before the Jonas Brothers performed their final song, “Leave Before You Love Me,” Nick thanked the audience and promised to come back. “We will come back soon and do this again. We have one more for you.” The two-day festival, which began on Saturday, featured performances by The Raghu Dixit Project and When Chai Met Toast, American pop star Halsey and The Karan Kanchan Experience, among others.

Music lovers are in for a treat as legendary musician Sting will close out Lollapalooza here on Sunday evening.
