Anushka (17', 27', 40') scored her triple in a 23-minute blitzkrieg as India took a 6-0 lead at the break with a brace from Pearl Fernandez (13', 26) at the ANFA Complex in Lalitpur, Nepal ') and the opening goal from captain Shveta Kumari (6').

Although India dominated the game throughout, they failed to replicate their effectiveness in the scoresheet long after the break. Substitute Anwita Raghuraman scored the only goal in the second half (61').

However, the coach was unable to take anything away from the game as the one-sided affair did not pose a challenge for his wards. While the Indian midfielders and attackers kept the opposition defenders completely occupied for most of the 90 minutes, the Indian defense had very little to do as Bhutan failed to create any semblance of an attack in the game.

While Indian goalkeeper Surajmuni Kumari remained uninvolved, her Bhutanese counterpart Kelzang Wangmo was one of the stars of the game despite the scoreline. Her only mistake in the game was a loose collection of goals that resulted in Pearl scoring her first goal and opening the scoring as India went past her five times in a 27-minute first-half goalfest.
