L.he numbers are really amazing. At the end of November, India was recording fewer than 10,000 new coronavirus infections per day – the last seven-day average was 8,500. According to several studies, the majority of the country’s 1.4 billion inhabitants have already developed antibodies against the coronavirus.
Virologist Jacob John, a professor emeritus at Christian Medical College in Vellore, South India, believes India will be the first country in the world to overcome the pandemic and enter an “endemic phase”. “This phase is reached when the new infections stabilize at a low level,” explains Jacob John. And this is exactly the situation in India now.
