Jakarta –
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account was recently hacked. Modi is a fairly active tweeter and has more than 70 million followers.
Start from BBC, Tuesday, 12/14/2021, after the hacking, the account sent a message that India had introduced Bitcoin as legal tender and would distribute it to all citizens.
But then the tweet was quickly deleted. The tweet, deleted from @narendramodi’s account, sketches that “the Indian government has officially bought 500 bitcoins and will be distributing them to all residents of the country”.
The hack comes as India prepares to crack down on booming cryptocurrency trading, with a new law expected to be slated to parliament this month.
For your information, this is the second time Modi’s Twitter account has been hacked by another party.
Previously, last year, his Twitter account was also hacked and a tweet was sent asking people to donate fake Covid aid funds.
