Indian citizen caught entering Indonesia via Soetta Airport, Jakarta – A foreign national (WNA) from India, initialed RM, was seized by Soekarno-Hatta immigration officials. The foreigner tried to enter Indonesia with a fake passport.

RM was caught in the act using a fake passport bearing the initials VM with a photograph replaced. Not only was his passport spoofed, he was also caught faking vaccination certificates, PCR certificates, insurance and several Canadian ID cards.

“Before entering Indonesia via Soekarno Hatta Airport, By using a Malaysia Airlines flight (MH 721) on Feb. 8, this RM is known to have stopped in Kathmandu and Kuala Lumpur,” Verico Sandi, head of immigration control, said on Thursday (10/2/2022).

To start his action, RM even removed evidence in the form of a PCR letter, vaccination certificate and boarding pass on his behalf. Namely by cutting the documents into small pieces and then throwing them in the cupboard at the arrivals terminal before going through the Covid-19 inspection.

This was also revealed after immigration officials conducted a search and extensive interview with RM. The perpetrator managed to deceive the Port Health Officer (KKP) with documents on behalf of VM, but was caught at immigration control.

“Upon further verification, it appears that VM’s name is not listed in the MH 721 passenger list data, the passenger list data does indeed contain RM’s name,” Sandi said.
