India wants more economic cooperation with Indonesia, why

VIVA – The Indian government wants strong economic cooperation with Indonesia, especially in terms of trade diversification, said Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Manoj Kumar Bharti.

“Strong and diversified economic cooperation. There is significant potential to expand trade between the two countries in the fields of engineered products, petroleum products, medicines and pharmaceuticals, automotive components, IT, health, buffalo meat, sugar and other agricultural products,” said Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Manoj Kumar Bharti. in a special interview with Antara in Jakarta, Tuesday.

During Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Jakarta on May 29-30, 2018, at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the two leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in all areas by forming a comprehensive strategic partnership to lead bilateral relations between Indonesia and India into a new era, Ambassador Bharti said.

According to Indian statistics, between 2000 and 2021 (until the third quarter), India has invested US$1.14 billion in 4343 projects while this number could be much higher as more investments come through Singapore, Thailand and other gateways.
