India receives Covid-19 vaccination for foreign tourists

KOMPAS.com – India has been receiving foreign tourist visits via commercial flights since Monday (November 15, 2021) after closing its borders for almost two years.

Since last month, the country had only received visits from foreign tourists with complete vaccinations via charter flights.

Reported by CNNForeign tourists entering Indian territory must have a full Covid-19 vaccine and a negative Covid-19 test result, sampled within 72 hours of departure.

Indian government notes that fully vaccinated foreign tourists from 99 countries are not allowed to undergo a Covid-19 test upon arrival in the country.

But they still have to monitor each other’s health for the next 14 days.

Unvaccinated or unvaccinated foreign tourists are required to provide a Covid-19 test sample upon arrival, quarantine for seven days, and retest in India on day eight.

If the retest result is negative, they must monitor each other’s health for the next seven days.

As of Saturday (November 13th, 2021), based on data from Indian Ministry of Health, some of the countries in the list are the United States (USA), United Kingdom, Philippines, Singapore, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Some countries not on the list are Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia.

The list of 99 countries is based on several categories, including countries that have an agreement with the Government of India to obtain vaccine certificates, both nationally recognized and WHO.
