The museum has now reopened and has moved to the
Mall of India in Noida, a satellite city of Delhi in Uttar Pradesh, operator Merlin Entertainments said.
“India, known for its rich cultural past, scintillating Bollywood actors and diversity in the entertainment sector, is an iconic destination to host the world-renowned brand of attractions,” the operator said in a statement.
“The new Madame Tussauds wax attraction will feature nearly 50 characters from a variety of genres including history, sports, music, film and television,” she added.
Visitors have the opportunity to meet current and late international and national figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, freedom fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Bhagat Singh and Subhas Chandra Bose, cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev and Virat Kohli. Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Madhubala, singing legends Asha Bhosle and Sonu Nigam and many more.
According to the statement, children will also get a chance to meet their favorite cartoon characters like Motu-Patlu.
“Each wax figure is crafted by over 20 international artists working simultaneously for 3 to 6 months to create the magic. Attraction audiences have long held a special place in their hearts for Madame Tussauds, and visitors are promised an unforgettable star-studded experience,” the statement said.
Madame Tussauds has over 23 locations around the world, from New York to Shanghai, Amsterdam to Sydney and of course London, where the story began, the statement said.
Throughout its more than 250-year history, Madame Tussauds has brought thousands of celebrities, stars and heroes to life – in stunning detail – and allowed visitors to touch their idols and reach for the stars, the statement said.
