Australia 85 runs from avoiding the follow-on and trail around 234 runs en route to the final day of the day-night test; Jhulan Goswami and Pooja Vastrakar each take two wickets, but Ellyse Perry digs in the day she becomes the first woman with 300 wickets and 5,000 runs in international matches

India women have low hopes of winning the day-night test against Australia after picking up four wickets on the penultimate day in Carrara.
The hosts finished the third day 143-4, still 85 runs to avoid the follow-up target of 228 and 234 runs behind India’s 377-8, which is the highest score for any visiting team in Australia.
The Indian sailors Jhulan Goswami (2-27) and Pooja Vastrakar (2-31) found a lot of movement with the pink ball, with Goswami responsible for the Australia starters Beth Mooney (4) and Alyssa Healy (29).
Vastrakar, meanwhile, removed Southern Stars skippers Meg Lanning, 38, and Tahlia McGrath, 28, during a superb bowling performance in India, although Ellyse Perry (27 versus 98) remains undefeated ahead of the final day at Metricon Stadium and a draw is most likely Result.
Perry was previously the first woman to double of 5,000 runs and 300 wickets in international cricket when she had Vastrakar, 13, caught in the gully by Mooney.
India added 101 runs in 43.1 overs to their overnight total of 276-5 while debutante Australian Stella Campbell, 19, made Taniya Bhatia her first test wicket to be withheld by wicketkeeper Healy.
Campbell also pinned Deepti Sharma, 66, lbw just before India’s declaration – the reruns showed the delivery was on the outside of the leg stump, but with DRS not operating the decision was made.
The absence of DRS, however, was in India’s favor during the Australian innings when Lanning – falling back to 17 and 32 – was against Vastrakar Ibw, despite hemming the approacher’s nip-backer inward on her pad.
Lanning’s dismissal left Australia 80-3 after Mooney Goswami clipped her stumps on her stump with a score of 14 and Healy then snapped the same bowler behind Bhatia when the hosts stood at 63.
One patient Perry stabilized Australia adding 39 with McGrath for the fourth wicket and then an unbroken 24 with Ashleigh Gardner (13 no) for the fifth.
India will feel like they can hit the four points available for a win if they sack Perry early on day four, but Australia expect a draw, a result where both sides would concede two points.
Australia lead the multi-format series 4-2 after winning two of their three one-day internationals, with the one-time friendly, followed by T20 internationals on October 7th, 9th and 10th, also in Carrara.
