Pay with your watch in 40 countries
Google is on the rise this year when it comes to expanding international support for Google Pay. Not only have we brought dozens of new banks on board, but we’re also seeing Wear OS support becoming available in more and more countries. Now is the time to keep the party going, with new options for users in the Netherlands, Israel, and Kazakhstan.
All three countries have already supported Google Pay for online shopping, and this week’s news is more about their expansion into brick and mortar retail. Israel and Kazakhstan are both starting to support tap-to-pay transactions over Pay with Android phones, while we are seeing expansion in the Netherlands.

We also have good news for wearable fans, as support for mobile payment via Wear OS is also available in all three countries. This expands the list of countries that work with Google Pay on Wear OS to 40.
We’ll likely hear more of this type of news from Google in the coming months as it plays a catch-up game with Apple Pay, which is currently available in 69 countries including Israel, Kazakhstan, and the Netherlands. Some potential candidates for the future availability of Google Pay on Wear OS are India and Japan, both of which already have Google Pay but not for wearable devices.
