Facebook and Instagram users in India can now create their 3D avatars; Here’s how

Meta formerly known as Facebook released 3D avatars for users in India. In the future, Indian users can create their 3D avatar and share it on Facebook, Messenger and Instagram. The feature is somewhat similar to the Bitmoji users created on Snapchat, which can be customized and sent as stickers. Once Facebook and Instagram users create their avatars, they can DM them and add them to their stories. Read on to learn more about how to create 3D avatars on Facebook and Instagram.

How to make a Facebook 3D avatar?

  • Open Facebook
  • Tap the three-bar menu in the top-right corner of the display
  • Tap See More, then tap Avatars.
  • Facebook prompts the user to choose their skin tone
  • It then prompts users to set their facial features like hairstyle, eye shape, lips, and more
  • When users have finished creating their avatar. You should tap “Done” in the top right corner of the display
  • Then users can share this avatar with other users via Facebook Messenger

How to make an Instagram 3D avatar?

  • Open Instagram
  • Tap the three-bar menu in the top-right corner of the display
  • Tap on “Settings” and then on “Account”.
  • In the menu that appears, select “Avatars”
  • Instagram informs about the feature – proceed to the next screen
  • Choose from an avatar template
  • Edit various aspects of the avatar including hair, face, eyes, lips, eyebrows, glasses, outfit and more
  • When all features of the avatar are edited, tap Done.
  • Go to a chat, tap the plus icon in the message field, then tap the smiley icon to send the avatar

To give its app a visual refresh, Instagram has confirmed that it’s introducing a lighter icon along with its own typography. The Meta-owned photo-sharing company has explained that its new design system puts content first, with an emphasis on simplicity and self-expression.

In a statement, Instagram said, “We’re bringing new energy and purpose to our colors, fonts, logos and other branding elements with a refreshed visual identity experience for our community.”
