Delhi News Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the main tunnel and five underpasses of the Pragati Maidan integrated transit corridor project, which is an integral part of the Pragati Maidan rehabilitation exercise. The Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor project has been built at a cost of more than 9.20 billion rupees and is fully funded by the central government. The aim is to provide hassle-free and smooth access to the new world-class exhibition and congress center being developed at Pragati Maidan to facilitate exhibitors and visitors to easily participate in the programs taking place there.

The corridor is fully funded by the central government, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement. The 1.36 km long tunnel will have six lanes, with a three-lane carriageway on either side. It connects the Ring Road to India Gate via Purana Qila Road, which runs through Pragati Maidan. It will also provide direct access to Pragati Maidan’s huge underground car park.
