Covid: No vaccination certificate, no salary: Punjab government says employees

The Punjab government has told its employees that if they fail to present their Covid vaccination certificate, they will not receive their salary.

She has asked the employees to register their complete or provisional vaccination pass number with the personnel portal of the state government iHRMS.

If they fail to do so, they will not be able to receive their salaries, the government said in an order.

The move is seen as an attempt by the state government to encourage more and more employees to get vaccinated against Covid, as concerns about the new variant of the Omicron coronavirus escalate.

In the order issued on Tuesday, the state tax office asked all senior officials, department heads, departmental officers, deputy agents and others to ensure compliance.

According to the order, a provision has been made for entering the Covid vaccination certificate number in the portal of the integrated personnel management system (iHRMS).

Government employees should be informed that they should register the Covid vaccination certificate number of both doses with iHRMS, the order says.

In addition, it was asked to link the Covid vaccination certificate number with the salary module so that his salary is not released if there is no information about the vaccination.
