Covid-19 cases surged, India required mask use again – all sides

Indians are required to wear masks again after a surge in some cases. – Covid-19 cases in India have seen a significant increase recently.

Earlier this week, India reported the addition of more than 2,000 new cases for the first time in a month.

According to data, the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases occurred in the southern region, more specifically in Kerala.

By mid-2021, India had become a country with a very severe Covid-19 blow. The number of Covid-19 cases slowly decreased until the rules for wearing masks were finally relaxed.

However, it appears that amid this Covid-19 tantrum, the Indian community is back to wearing masks.

Reported by Al JazeeraOn Thursday (04/21/2022) the rules for the use of masks were tightened again as a precaution against Covid-19.

Mainly in the capital New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, areas with densely populated populations.

“Given the rising number of Covid cases in the city, the Delhi government may require mask wearing again. The Delhi government is soliciting expert comments on the matter,” a government official said.

In addition to Kerala, peaks in Covid-19 cases have also been reported in Delhi, Maharashtra and Haryana within 24 hours.

Although confirmed cases of Covid-19 have increased, the hospitalization rate in the country is still low.

Epidemiologist Chandrakant Lahariya said people should start learning to coexist with the virus.

Schools that have just been opened should not have to be closed again.

“Cases will be reported everywhere, including schools, over the coming months no matter what we do,” he wrote on Twitter.

At the launch of Live Mint on Thursday (21/04/2022), Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan advised the Delhi government to monitor the spread of the infection and take effective measures to combat Covid-19.

“Delhi has reported an increase in weekly cases from 998 new cases on the weekend of April 12 to 2,671 new cases on April 19,” he said.

Sujeet Singh, director of the National Center for Disease Control, said the current surge in Covid-19 is related to mask-wearing policies.

“Cities are seeing an increase in Covid-19 cases and this is a very worrying problem. Covering your face with a mask when going out or in crowded places can prevent the spread of infection,” he said.

He did not predict that the increase in Covid 19 cases in India was due to the new variant.

India is known to have reported a case of Covid-19 variant XE, which is a recombination of Omicron BA.1 and BA.2, on Wednesday (04/06/2022).

“The recent spike in Covid cases does not appear to be due to changes in the current virus variant. The Covid numbers are more likely due to undisciplined behavior,” said Dr. Ekta Gupta, virologist at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences.

India condemns the WHO

India recently blasted the World Health Organization (WHO) for scathing criticism for causing the deaths of four million people there.

These findings also agree with the Lancet study and a journal published in Science in February. Where there are about 3.2 million deaths due to Covid-19.

The Indian Ministry of Health questioned the calculations used by the WHO and they are not statistically proven.
