Cleveland Cavaliers win 118-110 against Golden State Warriors | NBA News

NEW DELHI: Donovan Mitchell had the upper hand against Golden State and Draymond Greenfinished with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals on a night when Green was ejected and that Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the warrior 118-110 on Saturday.
Stephen Curry scored 30 points to lead the Warriors, who lost aggressive forward Green with eight points, five rebounds and four assists at 6:23 of the third quarter.

Green shoved Mitchell with his shoulder, knocking him out of bounds as Cleveland’s Caris LeVert moved toward a layup. When Green brought the ball across the middle of the field moments later, Mitchell chased him down, sparking a heated exchange that resulted in Mitchell receiving a personal foul.
LeVert scored 22 points and Darius Garland contributed 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and five steals. Evan Mobley added 19 points and two more of his team’s season-high 13 steals, marking one of Cleveland’s most versatile performances this season.
Notably, it was the Warriors’ first home win since March 14, 2014 and their first series win since 2008-09, following a 115-104 home victory last Sunday.
Curry has now made four or more 3-pointers in 10 consecutive games to start the season, a feat never achieved before N.B.A History, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
Curry, who scored 17 of his points in the first half while the Warriors trailed 68-52 at halftime, also became the 35th player in NBA history to reach 22,000 career points.
After Green hit a three-pointer with 7:01 left in the first half to put Golden State up 40-38, the Cavs countered with a 14-2 lead over the next 3:04, prompting a Warriors timeout.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr had pushed his team to improve at stopping the transition game – a challenge that came from watching his son Nicholas secure his first win at the top of the G League Santa Cruz Warriors. Kerr admitted to raising his voice at the referees several times.
“It was a great moment for him and as a father he couldn’t be prouder,” Kerr said.
Golden State secured five of its 15 offensive rebounds by the 4:52 mark of the first quarter – a key focus for Cavaliers coach JB Bickerstaff.
Green received his first technical of the night with 7:46 left before halftime, giving him a total of three points this season.
The Cavaliers will visit Sacramento on Monday night, while the Warriors will host the Timberwolves on Sunday to complete their back-to-back home series.
