Yash Starr KGF Chapter 2 is on record hunt at the checkout. The Prashanth Neel film crossed the big milestone of Rs 1000 crore a few days ago and became the second highest grossing Hindi film after Baahubali 2 followed by Dangal. Now, the latest reports suggest that the film’s net income will surpass Rs 400 billion and it will be only the second Hindi film after the Rajamouli epic.
On Friday, trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted: “#KGFChapter2 Hindi will surpass ₹400 Crs net today at #India Box Office. Only the 2nd Hindi film after #Baahubali2 to achieve this feat.”
KGF Chapter 2 Hindi version box office collection currently stands at Rs 391.65 crore according to Bollywood Hungama and money is still being minted. Dangal had earned Rs 387.38 crore at the domestic box office.
Previously, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the top three Hindi films in terms of box office earnings had two films from Kannada and Telugu industries, with the third being Aamir Khan’s Dangal.
While KGF Chapter 2 has had a smooth run in theaters so far, it remains to be seen if the film will maintain its stronghold at the box office against the Hollywood film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Intended to be a spectacle, the Marvel film hopes to create the same magic that Spider-Man: No Way Home created in December 2021.
Shubhra Gupta of the Indian Express gave KGF Chapter 2 a 1.5 star rating, noting in the review, “The problem with films that are busy working on their look is that they forget about the plot. KGF 2 oscillates randomly between past and present.”
