Chandigarh, January 12, 2024 – Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that the responsibility of taking India's economy to third place in the world lies in the hands of young Chartered Accountants (CA).

At the “Youth Festival for CA Students”, he addressed students from California and urged them to play a crucial role in the country's progress and bring more transparency to the tax system.

The Deputy Prime Minister was addressing the main event of Umang-2024 (Youth Festival for California Students) held at Chaudhary Charan Singh Auditorium of Guru Jambheshwar University in Hisar on Friday.

Chautala emphasized that chartered accountants are the backbone of the Indian economy. The entire framework of the Central Goods and Services Tax (GST) system has been prepared by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Currently, Haryana is leading in GST collections among the leading states in the country. After global medical centers and doctors, India is among the leading countries in the world when it comes to providing CAs. Countries like the United States depend on Indian certification bodies for software-related tasks like Tally.
