Air India introduces new in-flight entertainment and luxury amenities

Air India has expanded its in-flight offerings with luxury amenities and the launch of its new Inflight Entertainment (IFE) system, offering travelers a complete entertainment experience on its long-haul flights.

The full suite of new IFE content offers over 2,200 hours of entertainment content across all formats and genres, including 1,000 hours of films, 600 hours of TV and 600 hours of audio, for today's discerning traveler. It offers Hollywood blockbusters, international films, digital content, TV shows from platforms like Paramount, HBO, Prime, Sony Liv, Hulu, etc. and the exclusively programmed Air India Radio. Young aviators can also enjoy an extensive selection of curated audio and video content.

Air India is elevating its passengers' flying experience with new in-flight entertainment and luxurious amenities

The IFE features capacitive touchscreens and handheld devices, USB and AC power, personalized user interfaces, and features new headsets in all cabins.

Arc, a new immersive boarding pass experience from Panasonic Avionics Corporation, will also debut onboard Air India's A350 fleet. There, passengers can explore the world's geography, read curated city guides and zoom in on street map views of select cities to find out real-time information about flight and world time zones.

The IFE content is available on Air India's A350 and B777-200LR and will also be offered on new widebody aircraft. The entire interior of the existing wide-body fleet is scheduled to be completely renovated starting in the second half of 2024 as part of a $400 million retrofit program. It will then also be equipped with the new IFE system and an expanded range of content.

Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director, Air India, said: “As Air India enters a new era with the arrival of our A350 aircraft, our guests' entertainment experience also elevates. This complete overhaul of our in-flight entertainment offering reflects the dynamic change underway at Air India.”

In addition, numerous guest enhancements will be introduced across all cabin classes on long-haul international flights – from new amenity sets from Ferragamo and Verso to sustainable linens and new china, cutlery and glassware, these new luxury offerings will be introduced on medium and long-haul international flights from mid-2024.

First Class and Business Class passengers will continue to enjoy Air India's TUMI loungewear, made from recycled materials with cotton for extra softness and breathability, as well as soft velor slippers. You'll also rest on comfortable, sustainable and luxurious linens, mattress toppers and blankets made from premium wool blends and dine on fine china and glassware.

Premium Economy and Economy guests can also dine with new tableware and stay warm with the provided twill cabin blanket.
