The Indian takes a low second round to make the cut.
Megha Ganne, a local New Jersey amateur who made fame by running the US Women’s Open and then T-14, had a better day with an under 70 and finished as T-51.
Ganne played on sponsorship release and played in the same group as Aditi and the local Indian fans loved it.
Aditi, who started in tenth place, ran into trouble with three bogeys between 12th and 15th but held on with a number of pars. She only had one birdie in fourth place for a two-over 73.
Ganne had two birdies and two bogeys on her first nine, the back stretch of the course, and one birdie and no bogeys on the first nine.
On a day when there was a lot of low scores, up to 19 players shot the first round at the Bay Course in Galloway, NJ. 67 or better
Jodi Ewart Shadoff, who entered the tournament after missing five cuts in a row, shot six under 65 and led the field alongside So Yeon Ryu from Korea.
The Englishwoman carded four birdies and an eagle to jump to the top of the leaderboard.
Ewart Shadoff matched Ryu on the score and her score included an eagle on the par-5 third. Ryu also had an eagle and five birdies and a drop shot.
Eight players are one behind the leaders in tied third place at 5 under. These include # 2 Jin Young Ko, LPGA Hall of Famer Inbee Park, 10-time LPGA Tour winner Brooke Henderson, and Matilda Castren. Park is playing their first LPGA event since the AIG Women’s Open in August.
