Citing the statista.com report, which summarizes data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as of Sunday (October 24th, 2021), four Asian countries will begin to dominate the top 5 rankings of the world economic power, including Indonesia.
These data relate to the forecast of the gross domestic product (GDP) of each country. It is known that the United States previously topped the list from 1992 to 2008.
In 2024, however, the top position is to be replaced by China, while the USA will drop one notch to second place.
The infographic entitled “Continental Shift: The World’s Biggest Economies Over Time” lists around 11 country names from four continents. America includes the United States and Brazil.
Asia is represented by Japan, China, India and Indonesia. And the European continent includes Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain. Russia is one of them.
There was a significant shift between 1992 and 2008. China, which was in fifth place, moved up to second place in 2008. In the meantime, India has also climbed from eighth to four.
In Germany and Italy, meanwhile, there has been a drastic decline. Germany dropped from third to sixth place, while Italy dropped four places to tenth place.
