Covid-19 restrictions force Indian couple to hold event online
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NEW DELHI – Wedding Reception metaverse first India could attract more than 3,000 guests.
Dinesh SP, 24, and his fiancee Janaganandhini Ramaswamy, 23, who were married at a ceremony in Tamil Nadu state on Sunday (06/02/2022), decided to hold their reception online as health regulations limit the number of guests to 100 people, daily United Arab Emirates report, The National.
The celebration, billed as “Asia’s first Metaverse wedding,” lasted nearly two hours.
The groom, who works with blockchain technology and is a cryptocurrency enthusiast, is married to Ramaswamy, an IT professional. Both are Harry Potter fans and have set up a Hogwarts metaverse with the help of tech startup TardiVerse.
